Bird Flu was confirmed in chicken farms in West Kodiyathur and Vengeri in Kozhikode. An emergency meeting of the Kerala State Animal Husbandry Department was conducted yesterday under the supervision of minister K Raju in Thiruvananthapuram. The minister said there is nothing to worry about the flu at the moment.
The surroundings of the chicken farms are under high alert. Minister K Raju said necessary control measures are being taken and the farms were asked to cull all the chickens in the two farms.
The State Animal Husbandry Department has informed that the disease is under control.The first case of Bird Flu outbreak in the state was in 2016 in Kuttanad.
