Youth marries lover in presence of kin and panchayat members

A youth married his lover when her family opposed to their marriage. After calling her from her house, the two went to Munnar Panchayat office with the desire to get married. Finally, panchayat president Praveena Ravikumar took the initiative and conducted their marriage.
The marriage of Sudhan Subash and Niveda, natives of Idukki, was held at the panchayat office. The two were in love for the past four years. Sudhan is a driver in Chennai.

Sudhan along with his family had reached Niveda’s house when her parents were searching a suitable groom for her. However, her family opposed the marriage. Then Uma, a panchayat member of Waguwara ward, held talks with Niveda’s family, but they did not change their stand.
Sudhan had threats from her relatives. Sudhan then called Niveda from her house and went straight to the panchayat office with Uma and informed the president. The president informed their relatives about this.

Then his relatives reached the panchayat office with the ‘thali’ and wedding ring. The president then gave the thali and in the presence of his relatives and panchayat members, Sudhan tied the mangalsutra. The two returned after distributing sweets to the employees of the panchayat.
